Always Send Out Thank You Cards After Your Wedding

July 19, 2011 0 Comments Wedding cars by Administrator

Have you been working a lot in order to get all the details of your wedding just right? Balancing your wedding arrangements with demands of work and family life can be a very arduous task. Two things that keeps you going are the wedding itself when you will be a princess for a day and the honeymoon that follows it immediately. After all, who wouldn’t love the idea of disappearing to an exotic location for a couple of weeks with the person they love? However, there is still one thing that has to be done because your wedding related work is not completed till you send out Thank You cards.

Sending out Thank You cards is the accepted practice after weddings and not doing so is a very serious breach of etiquette. Failing to thank people for spending their time and hard earned money to buy you a gift can show in a very unfavourable light and you should avoid this at any cost. Admittedly, the task is a big one if you have received a lot of gifts but you still have to do so and that too within an accepted time limit. The accepted practice is that Thank You cards are to be sent within 3 months of the wedding and no later. The people who made you the gifts also understand that you have gone off on a honeymoon and they will not be expecting the cards immediately after the wedding.

There are ways in which you can reduce the amount of work this task entails. To begin with, you need to get a quantity of blank cards with envelopes ready before your wedding itself. The supplier who makes your wedding invites can makes these as well, using the same colour scheme, monogram or design you have chosen for the wedding invitation cards. It is best to leave the cards completely blank because there is nothing better than a hand written, personalized note. You could save time and effort by getting the return address printed on the envelope. However, you will still have to handwrite the address of the person you are thanking.

You might receive quite a few gifts before the wedding itself. You could start writing the Thank You cards for the people who send you these gifts as soon as they arrive so that you do not have a lot of work to do later on when you return from your honeymoon. Once you get back you and your spouse could tackle these cards ten at a time so that the work gets over soon and you do not have a huge backlog of cards to write and mail out.

In addition to being timely, the Thank You cards you send out ought to be as graciously written as your wedding invites and should be on paper of the same quality. This is the only way that you can communicate your heartfelt gratitude to the people who wished you well on the most important day of your life.
